Congratulations to Violette R!
A huge congratulations to Violette for being an integral part of the winning sailing team at the J-24 Nationals held in Sydney recently. Violette and her crew will officially represent Australia at the J-24 World Championships at Seattle, USA, later this year. Violette explained, ‘I was the youngest on the boat by a long shot, and it was certainly interesting racing. It was four days of non-stop racing, three races a day and twelve in total with variation from 20 to 10 knot winds. We finished in the top three in 10 out of 12 races with four first place finishes. I may have fallen off (once) and been the most bruised and battered I've ever been, but it was entirely worth it come awards night when we got to take home the trophies.
Stella Sailing Program Begins Next Week
Violette, and many other experienced and absolute beginner sailors have enthusiastically taken part in our Stella Sailing program which will commenced yesterday at Middle Harbour Yacht Club from 4:00 – 6:30pm. Girls sail for eight Wednesdays in Term 1. Please email me for registration details and more information.
